About Al Charanza

I have practiced law since 1992; primarily as a criminal defense attorney. I have been Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2005 and Board Certified in Criminal Appellate Law since 2011. I have also served in the Marine Corps Reserve as a Judge Advocate for 25 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2016. I attack my client's case to find the best defense and options to protect my client based on their needs and the nature of the case.

I understand that an arrest and/or conviction can affect my client personally as well as their family. I believe in being straight forward and honest with my clients so they clearly understand what they are facing. I work with my client’s families and answer their questions so my clients make informed decisions. I am not hesitant to go to trial to require the government to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

As a former prosecutor and instructor at a police academy, I evaluate the government's strengths and weaknesses of a criminal case and how it may effect my client. I enjoy representing persons accused of crimes and helping them personally as we work together in their defense.
